Quick Itinerary
Exploring Peru & Bolivia 19-Day Itinerary
Days 1-2 UK - Lima
Arrive in Lima for one night in the bustling capital city. We recommend enjoying Lima's thriving gastronomy scene in the evening.

Days 3-4 Sacred Valley
After your morning city tour of Lima, fly to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley.
Spend two nights in the tranquil Sacred Valley and enjoy a full-day tour visiting Chinchero, where the inhabitants preserve the culture of the Incas via traditional attire and practising ancient customs.
You'll also visit the Living Museum of Yucay where Andean traditions are perfectly demonstrated through elaborate textile, pottery and silverware work, and continue to the Inca village, temple and fortress of Ollantaytambo. Only becoming a fortress when the Spanish invaded, it managed to repel the army in 1536, however, the Spanish soon came back with a bigger army and the Incas fled to Vilcabamba.

Day 5 Machu Picchu
Today you will discover Peru's most iconic attraction, Machu Picchu. On your first visit, you will have a guided tour, and then, after a night in Aguas Calientes, you will be able to enjoy a second visit at your own pace.

Days 6-7 Cusco
After your second visit to Machu Picchu, you will transfer to Cusco where you will spend your next two nights. While in Cusco you will be taken on a half-day tour of the city and its surroundings visiting important Inca sites like Coricancha, once the most important temple in the Inca Empire, and the Spanish Cathedral.

Day 8 Puno, Lake Titicaca
Today you will take the bus to Puno, ready for the next part of your South America adventure.
Alternatively, upgrade and take a full-day scenic train journey on the luxurious Titicaca train, or take an extra day to indulge in an overnight journey on the opulent Belmond Andean Explorer sleeper train.

Day 9 Sun Island, Lake Titicaca
This morning you will have a private transfer to the border, where you will be assisted with immigration, before being taken to Copacabana.
Once you have arrived in Copacabana you will then enjoy an excursion to Sun Island, one of many islands on Lake Titicaca, where you can explore the Inca temple, Pilko Kaina and Escalera del Inca, a staircase leading to an Inca fountain that was believed to prolong youth, before heading back to Copacabana for the night.

Days 10-11 La Paz
Enjoy time to explore the town before being taken to Bolivia’s capital, La Paz.
While here you will have a tour of the city as well as the Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), an intriguing geological place that looks like a forest of stalagmites covering a desert, and the Mi Teleferico cable car. The world's highest cable car, the Teleferico has revolutionised the way locals now travel between La Paz and the neighbouring city of El Alto. It provides a spectacular bird-eye view enabling passengers to grasp the immensity of La Paz City.
Whilst in El Alto, you’ll discover Bolivia’s vibrant cholets - striking Neo-Andean buildings inspired by traditional Aymara designs and celebrated for their bold colours and symbolism. You’ll also experience Cholitas wrestling, where indigenous women perform in traditional dress, showcasing strength, agility and cultural pride. What began in the 2000s as a way for women to rebuild confidence has grown into a powerful expression of identity, resilience and empowerment. The lively atmosphere and crowd interaction make this a memorable and insightful part of any visit to the city.

Day 12 Sucre
Take a short flight east to the historic city of Sucre, where the green plazas and narrow streets are abuzz with locals and visitors enjoying the warm and pleasant weather. Enjoy a private city tour.

Day 13 Potosi
Before travelling to Potosi, you will have the chance to visit the Farmers market as well as the Central market, tasting the fruits of the season. You will also be taken to a traditional bar “chicheria” to taste traditional drinks.
In the afternoon you will take a 3-hour bus ride to Potosi.

Days 14-15 Uyuni Salt Flats
In the morning you will have the chance to visit the famous silver mines of Potosi before carrying on your journey, through magnificent landscapes, to Uyuni. As an alternative to the mine visit, you can visit Potosi's iconic Casa Real de la Moneda, National Mint instead.
Enjoy a full-day tour of the largest salt flat in the world, exploring the amazing empty white landscape is an incredible experience and a must-do while in Bolivia. Don’t forget your camera for a chance to take some entertaining photos.
You will spend two nights at the unique Salt Hotel, a hotel whose main building material is … salt.

Day 16 La Paz
Today you will head back to La Paz for your last night in Bolivia.

Days 17-19 Lima - UK
You will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Lima where you will enjoy another night in the Peruvian capital.
The following day, transfer to Lima airport for your onward flight. You'll land back in the UK from Peru on day 19.
