Colombia by the Sea 14-Day Itinerary
Days 1 - 3 UK - Bogota
You will depart the UK on your international flight to Bogota, Colombia.
On your first full day in Colombia, you'll enjoy a Bogota city tour. Its historic centre, also known as La Candelaria, is an archaic suburb with great significance for the country due to its history and cultural heritage. You will visit the main square, Plaza de Bolivar, and the Cathedral (on the eastern side of the plaza) which holds an important collection of religious artefacts such as textiles and artworks.
Around the Plaza, you will be able to see famous buildings such as the Palacio de Justicia and Bogotá’s Mayor's offices called the Edificio Liévano. Continue on with a visit to the Botero Museum (closed on Tuesdays) and then the famous Gold Museum (closed on Mondays).
Days 4 - 6 Tayrona National Park
Spend the next 3 nights with views of the Caribbean while being surrounded by jungle and just 3km from the entrance to the famous Tayrona National Park.
Enjoy a full-day private tour of this natural paradise, taking in the beautiful pristine white-sand beach of Cañavera and the large egg-shaped boulders that frame the beach of Arrecifes, reached by a hike through humid and tropical forest.
Spend a day at leisure taking in the views from your hotel, exploring the nearby forest or unwinding on the beach.
Days 7 - 9 Cartagena
Enjoy a panoramic city tour of beautiful Cartagena. Start your tour at San Felipe Fortress, erected in honour of Don Luis Carlos López, a famous poet from Cartagena, head to the Ciudad Vieja (Old City) to visit the Convent and Church of San Pedro Claver which dates back to the XVII century. Lastly, you will continue on to the Bovedas zone, an artisan centre where you will be able to appreciate local handicrafts.
Enjoy a free day to explore the city on your own.
Days 10 - 12 Isla Mucura
Isla Mucura is a coral island located in the pristine archipelago of San Bernardo off the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Discover the rich marine life while snorkeling in the crystalline waters, stroll along the sandy shores or simply relax in a hammock under the shade of swaying palms.
Days 13 - 14 Cartagena - UK
Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
