A romantic journey from the Atacama Desert to Patagonia’s lakes, crafted for an extraordinary start to married life

Your Chile and Argentina honeymoon begins in Santiago, where a gentle introduction to South America sets the tone for the adventure ahead. Soon, the landscape shifts dramatically as you travel north to the Atacama Desert. At Nayara Alto Atacama, surrounded by red rock canyons and vast desert skies, you will experience one of the world’s most extraordinary environments in complete comfort. Days are shaped by guided explorations of salt flats, lunar valleys and high altitude lagoons, while evenings bring fine Chilean wines and stargazing beneath remarkably clear skies.

Crossing the Andes via the spectacular Paso de Jama, you journey into Argentina and the blinding white expanse of the Salinas Grandes. Here, beautifully designed private domes at Pristine Luxury Camp offer uninterrupted views across the salt flats. Guided by local experts, you will learn about the culture and geology of this high altitude region before continuing to rural Salta. In Purmamarca, the Cerro de los Siete Colores rises above adobe streets, and at House of Jasmines, a Relais & Châteaux estancia, a gaucho led horseback ride introduces you to Argentina’s enduring traditions.

From the desert north to the subtropical forest of Iguazú, the contrast is striking. Staying at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, the only property within the national park on the Brazilian side, you have privileged access to the falls in the quiet of early morning and late afternoon. A thrilling boat ride brings you close to the cascades before you continue to Buenos Aires. Here, three nights at Legado Mítico allow time to savour Argentina’s capital through a traditional asado, a private bike tour and an evening of tango that captures the spirit of the city.

Patagonia unfolds next in Bariloche, where alpine style architecture meets lakes and forested peaks. A privately guided hike and kayak excursion reveal the natural beauty of the Lake District before you cross back into Chile on the Andean Lakes Crossing, travelling by boat through emerald waters framed by volcanic cones. In Puerto Varas, contemporary comfort awaits at Hotel AWA, followed by a final indulgent stay at Casa Real, a historic vineyard estate near Santiago. Surrounded by manicured gardens and centuries of heritage, it is a fitting place to reflect on a honeymoon that has woven together desert silence, glacier fed lakes, vibrant cities and warm hospitality, the perfect beginning to married life.
