Luxury Highlights of Peru 13-Day Itinerary
Days 1-3 UK - Lima
Travel on your international flight from the UK and arrive in Lima for a night in Peru's bustling capital city. Here you’ll spend the night at the gorgeous Hotel B in the romantic bohemian district of Barranco.
On day 2 you will take a tour of the capital, visiting the Cathedral, the stunning colonial mansion Casa Aliaga and the Larco Museum, before flying to Arequipa where you’ll stay at the beautifully restored Cirqa hotel.
We recommend making the most of Lima’s gastronomic fame, please let your travel specialist know if you would like to make a reservation at any of the top restaurants.


Day 4 Arequipa
Today you will board the luxurious Belmond Andean Explorer. The Andean Plains & Islands of Discovery itinerary departs depart Arequipa in the morning, with a stop early afternoon at Sumbay Caves to see cave paintings over 6000 years old. Enjoy stunning Andean scenery as you trundle towards Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, arriving late in the evening.


Day 5 Lake Titicaca
Upon arrival at Lake Titicaca, you will enjoy a full-day tour of both Uros and Taquile Islands before heading back to the train for your last night on board as it makes its way to Cusco.


Day 6 Cusco
Upon disembarking the Andean Explorer you will be transferred to Palacio del Inka, a beautiful 5 centuries-old mansion perfectly located in the historic centre of Cusco.
Enjoy a half-day tour of Cusco and its surroundings, taking in sites such as the Inca archaeological sites of Coricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.


Day 7 Hiram Bingham Tour to Machu Picchu
Depart Cusco on the Belmond Hiram Bingham to make your way to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu. The citadel is a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacutec (1438-1472).
Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, you will be taken on a tour of the fascinating citadel before retiring to the Sumaq Machu Picchu hotel.


Days 8-10 Sacred Valley
After a second, unguided, visit to the famous archaeological site you will board the Belmond Hiram Bingham once again, making your way to the Sacred Valley of the Incas with dinner on board....
A valley in the Andes of Peru, it was appreciated by the Incas due to its special geographical and climatic qualities. It was one of the empire's main points for the extraction of natural wealth and the best place for maize production in Peru
You will spend three nights at Tambo del Inka, part of the Luxury Collection of hotels.
On your second day in the Sacred Valley embark on a full-day tour of Pisac Market and the town of Ollantaytambo where you'll explore the archaeological complex, considered to be one of finest examples of Inca urban planning. Your following day is free to let your mind and soul unwind, enjoy the breathtaking views or indulge in a treatment at the spa.


Days 11-13 Lima - UK
Today you will fly back to Lima for your last night in this culturally stunning country, where you’ll stay at the elegant and historic Country Club Lima Hotel
The following day, transfer to Lima airport for your onward flight. You'll land back in the UK from Peru on day 12.
