Leisurely Peru 22-Day Itinerary
Days 1-3 UK - Lima
Arrive in Lima for two nights in Peru's bustling capital city. Discover the city on a half-day tour and enjoy Lima's thriving gastronomic scene in the evening.
Days 4-5 Arequipa
Arequipa is a charming town with colonial buildings and a beautifully preserved central square. Spend two nights in the city and discover some of its many highlights on a half-day city tour including the famous Monasterio Santa Catalina.
Days 6-7 Colca Canyon
With towering Incan terraces set against a beautiful backdrop of rivers and volcanoes, the Colca Canyon offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Peru. Enjoy a two-night tour exploring the canyon, including an early morning visit to Condor Point.
Days 8-9 Lake Titicaca
Lake Titicaca offers a unique frontier between Peru and Bolivia with some amazing scenery. You will spend two nights here and discover the fascinating communities on the Uros Floating Islands on a full-day boat tour of Lake Titicaca.
Day 10 Cusco
All aboard the Titicaca train to Cusco, which passes through some dramatic scenery and vibrant local towns. Upon reaching Cusco you will enjoy one night here, giving you time to orientate yourself ready for your return after Machu Picchu.
Days 10-13 Sacred Valley
Travel to Sacred Valley of the Incas for three nights where your days are at leisure. You may choose to explore the area and its many Inca sites, or just sit back and relax while taking in the stunning scenery.
Day 14 Machu Picchu
Today you will explore one of the seven wonders of the world, Machu Picchu. You will take the train up to Aguas Calientes where you will then head to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of Peru's most iconic attraction.
You will spend the night in Aguas Calientes and will have the chance to visit Machu Picchu again in the morning, this time at your own pace without a guide.
Days 15-16 Cusco
After your second visit to Machu Picchu, you will take the train back to Cusco where you will spend two nights and enjoy a half-day tour of Cusco and its surroundings including many Inca sites.
Days 17-19 Amazon Rainforest
Today you will fly to Puerto Maldonado which is in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. Here you will stay for three nights at a jungle lodge on a full board basis. Your stay also includes a programme of exciting excursions into the rainforest with their expert guides.
Days 20- 22 Lima - UK
Today you will head back to Lima for your last night in this beautiful country.
Next day, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight and will land back in the UK on day 21.
