Highlights of Bolivia 14-day Itinerary
Days 1-2 Santa Cruz de la Sierra
You will take your international flight from the UK to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in Bolivia’s tropical lowlands, where you will spend your fist night.

Days 3-5 Torotoro National Park
This morning you fly to Cochabamba, and continue by 4x4 vehicle to Torotoro National Park. This spectacular, yet little-visited national park is around 64 square miles of deep canyons, caves and interesting geological formations. It is also home to over 3500 dinosaur footprints dating back to the cretaceous period, including sauropods, theropods, ankylosaur and titanosaurus footprints. Over the next few days you’ll explore Umajalanta Cave, discover the national park’s canyons and ridges where you may spot Andean condor, see ancient wall paintings, unearth dinosaur footprints, and take in wonderful views overlooking Torotoro syncline.


Day 6 Sucre
On arrival in the World Heritage city of Sucre you’ll dive straight into its vibrant markets! Wander through the bustling farmers’ market and the lively central market, where colourful displays and rich aromas fill the air. Many of the vendors are indigenous women from nearby rural communities, offering you a truly authentic glimpse into local life and traditions
You will also be taken to a traditional bar “chicheria” to taste traditional drinks.


Day 7 Potosi
Before travelling to Potosi, explore Sucre’s green plazas and narrow streets, abuzz with locals and visitors enjoying the warm and pleasant weather. Enjoy a private city tour to see the House of Liberty, the museum of La Recoleta, San Lázaro church, the courtyard of the Universidad Mayor de San Francisco Xavier and the Convent of San Felipe Nery where you can climb to the terrace for views over the city. In the afternoon, continue to Potosi.


Days 8-9 Uyuni Salt Flats
In the morning you will have the chance to visit the silver mines of Potosi and walk up to the foot of Cerro Rico Mountain, the largest silver deposit in the world, which has been mined since the 16th century. Alternatively take a city tour to visit Potosi's iconic Casa Real de la Moneda, National Mint.
In the afternoon you will transfer to Uyuni, home to one of South America’s biggest attractions, the white landscape of the Uyuni Salt Flats.
The next day, you start your tour of the salt flats and learn about table salt production at the factories, see pyramids of salt and the eyes of salt. You will also visit Inca Huasi Island, where you’ll find caves and huge 8-10m giant cacti.
After a day of exploring and having fun getting creative with your photographs, you will enjoy a night at a hotel that has been completely made of salt.


Days 10-11 Siloli & Dali Deserts
After an early start, you will head to the Siloli desert and visit Lake Turkiri, Ollague Volcano, and Lakes Cañapa, Hedionda, Chaircota and Honda, home to various pink flamingos and bird species. You’ll also visit the Stone Tree, a unique rock formation caused by wind erosion, and Laguna Colorada, known as the Red Lagoon for its unusual red colouring.
Before heading back to Uyuni the following day, you will have the chance to explore more of the Siloli Desert, taking in the sulphur vapours of the geysers, enjoy an open-air dip in the thermal ponds of Polques and visiting the Green Lake with the view of the Licancabur Volcano. You will also visit Dali Desert, so called because of its surreal and barren landscape. On the way back to Uyuni you will stop at the Valley of the Rocks.


Days 12-13 La Paz
In the morning fly from Uyuni to the bustling old-world capital of La Paz. In the afternoon take a guided city tour including the cable car to get fantastic views over the city. You also journey a short distance out of town to Moon Valley. The incredible geology, canyons and interesting rock formations of Valle de la Luna really make it feel like something out of this world.
On your second day journey along the infamous Death Road in the Yungas Valley, to Senda Verde. Where the Andes meets the Amazon, this subtropical region is lush and green, with flowers and birdlife, in stark contrast to La Paz. You’ll visit Senda Verde Wildlife Sanctuary, a refuge for rescued monkeys, bears, cats, birds, and reptiles, where you can learn about Bolivia’s wildlife conservation efforts and observe these remarkable animals up close.


Day 14 Lake Titicaca
Today you will journey to Lake Titicaca, considered sacred by the Incas, it has a fascinating history and incredible scenery. From Copacabana, you will navigate across the lake to Sun Island. Enjoy a native lunch on arrival before exploring the Inca temple, Pilko Kaina, and Escalera del Inca, a staircase leading to an Inca fountain that was believed to prolong youth.
To truly immerse yourself in the local culture, speak to your Travel Specialist about staying an extra night near Lake Titicaca at a farming community. Here you can learn about their history and culture, and join traditional weaving workshops, enjoy local homecooked meals and climb Sleeping Dragon hill for beautiful views over the lake.


Days 15-17 Lima - UK
This morning explore Copacabana and visit the basilica shrine where the Lady of Copacabana (Dark Madonna) can be found. Then continue your journey across the border, into Peru, in time for your flight to Lima. The following day, transfer back to Lima airport for your onward flight. You will land back in the UK on day 17.
