“Iguazú Falls. It’s one of the most powerful natural sights I’ve ever experienced and you feel it before you even see it,” says Chelsea.The falls are not just a visual highlight, they are an experience. “Travelling by car meant we could stop whenever we wanted, take in the views and really immerse ourselves in the landscapes,” Sarah explains.Their route took them through Salta, Purmamarca, Salinas Grandes, Tilcara, Cachi and Cafayate, with each destination offering something different.
“The landscapes between them often stole the show,” they shared.This part of Argentina is known for its dramatic scenery, from red rock valleys to high altitude salt flats and colourful mountains. The Quebrada de Humahuaca, once an important trade route, still reflects a rich blend of indigenous and colonial heritage today.

“Arriving into Cafayate after the drive felt really special,” says Sarah. “It’s peaceful, scenic and a complete contrast to anywhere else in Argentina.”The route from Salta to Cafayate is one of the most scenic drives in the country, passing through formations such as the Quebrada de las Conchas, where wind and water have carved dramatic red rock landscapes over time.
