Tell us about your main destinations on your trip to Chile?
On this trip to Chile, I visited Santiago, Punta Arenas and Patagonia.
How did you get to Chile from the UK?
I travelled via Direct flight from London Heathrow to Santiago with British Airways, followed by domestic flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas with Latam.
Was this your first time or a repeat visit to Chile?
Repeat. I backpacked across Chile for 1 month when I was 19 years old. This time around I managed to visit Patagonia, one of my lifelong travel dreams.

What was your favourite location on your holiday to Chile?
PATAGONIA, PATAGONIA, PATAGONIA!!
It’s hard to put down in words how amazing Patagonia is. It’s by far one of the most dramatic, and beautiful scenery in the world!
I particularly enjoyed my stay with Las Torres, it feels like a cosy Patagonian hideaway, where friendly smiles greet you after a day on the trails and the mountains are so close it’s like waking up in the middle of a postcard.
What was your most memorable moment of the trip?
Lunch with a view at Mirador las Torres, a lookout at the base of Torres del Paine’s distinctive granite peaks.

What was your favourite excursion or experience on your holiday to Chile?
Doing the Torres del Paine base trek, one of the world’s most beautiful hikes, 12 hours of stunning scenery, and breath taking views. We spent a full day trekking to Base Torres and Paine Gray Glacier, where you can drink whiskey in a cup carved out of ancient glacier ice! We also went horseback riding with the best baqueano guides through Lago Nordenskjöld and The Lagos Trail.

What is your top tip to recommend to other travellers to pack or prep for before a visit to Chile and Patagonia?
If you are hiking in Patagonia, make sure you bring proper hiking gear, including hiking trousers, shoes, and a good backpack.
What was your favourite food or drink you tried on the trip?
I’m a big foodie and the food in Chile is incredible, special mention to all the incredible ceviche, piscos, Chilean wine and the amazing lamb in Patagonia – some of the best I’ve ever tasted in my life. Also, you can visit Chile’s first sustainable cocktail bar in Las Torres for some delicious mixology that’s perfectly in harmony with mother nature!
