We're delighted to announce that Latin Routes has been shortlisted in the 2026 LATA Media Awards, with our Costa Rica: The Photographer's Guide recognised in the Best LATA Member Content category.
Organised by the Latin American Travel Association (LATA), the annual awards celebrate outstanding travel journalism, photography and destination content that inspires people to discover Latin America. To be shortlisted alongside some of the travel industry's leading brands and publications is a fantastic achievement and one we're incredibly proud of.
Celebrating the team's creativity and expertise
The shortlisted guide was written by Lewis Freeth, whose passion for wildlife photography and first-hand experience travelling in Costa Rica formed the foundation of the article.
Combining practical photography advice with destination expertise, the guide helps travellers capture Costa Rica's remarkable wildlife and landscapes while promoting responsible photography and respectful wildlife encounters. From photographing sloths and scarlet macaws to making the most of rainforest light, it showcases the knowledge and enthusiasm that define the Latin Routes approach.
A collaborative achievement
While Lewis authored the guide, this nomination recognises the collaborative effort behind every piece of content published by Latin Routes.
From concept development and photography to editing, SEO, design and publishing, the project was brought to life by the wider Latin Routes marketing team. Together, the team works to create inspiring, informative content that helps travellers plan unforgettable holidays across Latin America.
Every destination guide, travel article and piece of inspiration is built on first-hand experience, careful research and a genuine passion for sharing the places we know and love.
Recognised by the travel industry
Being shortlisted in the LATA Media Awards is wonderful recognition of the high-quality content produced by the Latin Routes team. As specialists in tailor-made holidays to Latin America, we're passionate about sharing expert knowledge that helps travellers experience each destination in a more meaningful way.
This nomination reflects the dedication that goes into creating resources that are not only inspiring to read but genuinely useful for anyone planning a holiday to Latin America.

Thank you
We're incredibly grateful to LATA for recognising our work and would like to congratulate all of this year's finalists in the LATA Media Awards.
