Spirit of Chile 13-day Itinerary
Days 1-4 UK - Santiago
On Day 1, you will depart the UK on your international flight to Santiago - a modern, clean and bustling city framed by the snow-capped peaks of the Andes. The city has a colonial atmosphere due to its architecture and a number of small squares and parks. Orientate yourself with a half-day tour to a selection of the city’s places of interest and perhaps spend your time at leisure discovering the thriving restaurant scene.
Days 5-7 The Atacama Desert
This fantastic journey will take you to the world’s highest and driest desert – the Atacama. You’ll fly from Santiago to Calamá Airport, where a guide will be waiting for you and will take you on to the hotel on a shared transfer.
This outstanding region is one filled with huge salt flats, hot springs and steaming geysers, and you’d be forgiven for thinking you have landed on the moon, as you are greeted by a landscape of red rock as far as the eye can see!
Days 8-9 Valparaíso
The next day you fly back to Santiago and transfer straight to Valparaíso – a city that is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, perched on the edge of a steep hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
This is an enchanting place, with a striking contrast between the colourful tin houses lining the hillside and the Victorian mansions down by the port. This once-thriving port town has a charmingly bohemian feel, and you'll be sure to love exploring its beautiful maze of narrow streets filled with an array of restaurants, bars, museums and colonial buildings.
Days 10-11 Chilean Wine Region
Spend the final two days relaxing in the heart of Chile's wine region, you'll enjoy the picturesque vineyard surrounds of your luxury boutique hotel, with a vineyard tour and wine tasting. On full board basis, you'll dine on locally sourced ingredients skillfully prepared.
Days 12-13 Santiago - UK
Transfer from the wine region to Santiago airport for your onward flight. Arrive back in the UK on Day 13.
