Our top tip for holidays to Costa Rica
Plan for big distances and pack for multiple climates. Costa Rica may be compact, but the landscapes change quickly, and so does the weather. It’s common to experience warm, sunny beaches, cooler temperatures in the Central Valley, and misty, rain-soaked cloud forest all in one trip. The best way to stay comfortable (and make the most of every stop) is to pack versatile layers, including a light waterproof, breathable clothing for humid days, and something warm for evenings in higher-altitude areas, even if you’re travelling in the dry season.
