Gaynor Atherton

Gaynor joined Latin Routes in March 2018, following a successful career as a travel agent. Her connection to the company began even earlier when she took part in Latin Routes’ very first educational trip to Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and Rio de Janeiro. That experience sparked a deep passion for Latin America, which led her to join the business development team two years later. Today, as Head of Trade Relations, she leads the team and works closely with agent partners across the UK, sharing her enthusiasm and first-hand knowledge of the region.

Her travels have taken her to eight countries across the continent, including Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Having experienced these destinations personally, Gaynor brings genuine excitement and insight to her conversations with travel agents and their clients. She especially loves Chile for its remarkable diversity; from the arid Atacama Desert to the glaciers and fjords of the south, making it a dream for adventurers, foodies and photographers alike.

In addition to Latin America, Gaynor has explored destinations around the world, from the South Pacific and Sri Lanka to Kenya and the Maldives. Her travel interests include wildlife, food, family travel, and adventure. Her guiding philosophy is: "Travel with an open mind and heart and embrace every moment – do not live behind a camera on any trip."
