Boutique Colombia 15-Day Itinerary
Days 1 - 3 UK - Bogota
Arrive in Bogotá after an overnight flight and settle into your boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the city. The next morning, awaken to a guided journey through Bogotá’s soul. Stroll cobbled streets lined with pastel facades and colourful murals in La Candelaria, then stand in awe at Plaza de Bolívar, steeped in revolution and resilience. Marvel at colonial and neoclassical masterpieces like the Cathedral and Capitol and step into the artistic world of Botero, where oversized sculptures charm and challenge. End the tour at the Gold Museum, where shimmering pre-Hispanic artifacts tell ancient tales. You’ll stay in a modern luxury boutique hotel, in the trendy El Retiro neighbourhood.


Days 4 - 5 Villa de Leyva
Depart Bogotá and journey through the scenic Savannah to Zipaquirá, home to the awe-inspiring Salt Cathedral, an underground marvel carved into ancient salt mines. Explore its illuminated dome, symbolic naves, and the world’s largest salt cross. Continue to Villa de Leyva, a colonial town with cobbled streets and a vast central square. The next day, visit El Infiernito, a Muisca archaeological site, and the Fossil Museum, built where a 120-million-year-old kronosaurus was found. In the evening, enjoy stargazing from the square with a warm “canelazo” in hand. Stay in a Spanish colonial style boutique hotel, located a stone’s throw from Plaza Mayor.


Days 6 - 8 Barichara


Days 9 - 10 Coffee Region
In the Coffee Region, visit La Carbonera, a Wax Palm Reserve 40 miles from Salento, offering panoramic views of the Central Mountain Range. Discover Colombia’s tallest palms and hike through landscapes rich in endemic flora and fauna. Along the journey, visit a traditional home for a refreshing glass of agua de panela accompanied by local cheeses. Later, explore Salento’s colourful colonial streets, then enjoy a latte art experience where a barista demonstrates their skills. Days 9 - 11 Cartagena
Transfer to La Boquilla, an Afro-Colombian fishing village just 20 minutes from Cartagena. Explore the mangroves by canoe with local fishermen, learning traditional techniques used to catch sea bass, crabs, and more. Visit a fisherman’s home for a cooking class and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. Later, immerse yourself in the rhythms of cumbia, mapalé, and champeta during a lively drum workshop.
