LEX Ship NG Venture Exterior Mexico Baja California MSN MX24 1012 (1)

National Geographic Venture, Expedition Ship, Baja California Cruises

This 100-passenger expedition ship offers 50 outside cabins, indoor and outdoor dining, a spa, fitness centre and library – ideal comfort levels for exploring Baja California’s rich coastline.

Expedition cruising through Baja California and the Sea of Cortez, led by National Geographic experts and designed for immersive wildlife encounters.

The National Geographic Venture is a 100-guest expedition vessel operated by Lindblad Expeditions, blending contemporary comfort with advanced scientific capability for immersive exploration of Baja California and the Sea of Cortez.

Purpose-built for discovery, the ship follows key wildlife migratory routes along the Baja California peninsula and into the wildlife-rich waters of the Sea of Cortez. Thanks to her shallow draft, the Venture can navigate secluded bays and remote lagoons that are inaccessible to larger vessels, allowing for closer encounters with the region’s extraordinary marine life. Kayaks, snorkelling equipment and stand-up paddleboards are available for guests wishing to explore further.

On board, an expert team of naturalists and National Geographic specialists use hydrophones and underwater cameras to observe and study marine species beneath the surface. Guests can gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystems encountered throughout the voyage in the ship’s dedicated library and science hub. Daily briefings are held in the comfortable lounge, where expansive picture windows provide excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting between excursions. There is also a spacious sun deck, an open-air viewing platform and a fitness room.

With capacity for just 100 guests, accommodation ranges from well-designed porthole cabins to more spacious balcony cabins, offering a relaxed and intimate atmosphere throughout.

From November to March, the National Geographic Venture operates 8-day, 11-day and 13-day expeditions exploring destinations such as Magdalena Bay, Loreto and Isla Espíritu Santo. These voyages focus on remarkable wildlife encounters, including grey whales in their calving lagoons, alongside blue and humpback whales, sea lions, rays and dolphins in the nutrient-rich waters of the Sea of Cortez.
