Land in Quito, the first city in the world to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage site back in 1978, and appreciate its beautiful surroundings, colonial architecture and impressive buildings – including the Virgin of El Panecillo, sitting atop a hill and overlooking the city. You will then travel on to wonderfully contrasting scenery: the awe-inspiring islands that have fascinated explorers, naturalists, sailors and occasionally even pirates – the pristine Galápagos!

The Galápagos Islands are an archipelago consisting of 13 main islands filled with spectacular landscapes and endemic species of birds, and land and marine mammals. On this holiday, you will encounter unique species such as the Galapagos giant tortoises, sea lions, land iguanas and red-footed boobies standing on lava fields, amongst many others.

Days 1 - 3 - Quito

On your first full day in Ecuador, you will get to enjoy a full-day tour of Quito’s old town as well as the middle of the world to experience the natural effects of the equator and learn more about the Ecuadorian culture at Museo de Sitio Intinan.

On your second day, you will head north for a full-day tour to Otavalo, exploring its famous indigenous market, and Cuicocha Lake, a stunning 3km wide crater lake at the foot of the Cotachi volcano.
