Your holiday begins in Rio de Janeiro, staying close to the famous Copacabana Beach and exploring the city’s landmark viewpoints, lively neighbourhoods and sweeping coastline. From here, travel south to Iguazú Falls, where vast cascades thunder through subtropical forest on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The journey then continues into the Pantanal, staying at a wildlife lodge and taking part in guided excursions that introduce you to one of the world’s most important ecosystems.
Next, head deep into the Amazon Rainforest for a stay at a remote jungle lodge, exploring forest trails and river systems alongside expert naturalist guides. To conclude, travel to Brazil’s northeast coast for time to unwind on idyllic beaches before finishing your adventure in Salvador. Explore the city’s historic quarter, rich Afro Brazilian heritage and colourful streets, bringing culture and contrast to the final chapter of an unforgettable Brazilian journey.

Leisurely Brazil 19-Day Itinerary
Days 1 - 4 Rio de Janeiro
Arrive in vibrant Rio de Janeiro for a three-night stay in the “Marvellous City”. You will stay in a centrally located hotel in Copacabana.
On your second day, enjoy an exciting half-day tour to Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer) and Sugar Loaf Mountain where you will have some fantastic views over the city.
With the rest of your free time, you could visit the historic downtown area or the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Alternatively, you would be forgiven for spending your time sipping caipirinhas on the beautiful sands of Copacabana Beach!
Days 5 - 6 Iguacu Falls
Today you will fly to Foz do Iguacu where you will spend two nights discovering the almighty Iguacu Falls.
Enjoy a full-day tour of the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of the Falls for some fantastic panoramic photographs of one of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls.
Days 7 - 9 The Pantanal
You fly on to Cuiabá which is the entry point for the northern Brazilian Pantanal. The Pantanal is a vast expanse of wetlands and is often considered one of the best places to spot wild animals in the whole of South America, including colourful hyacinth macaws, jabiru stork, capybara, tapir, giant anteater and coati. It is also one the best places to spot jaguars in the wild.
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred by 4x4 vehicle to your Pantanal lodge. Your stay at the lodge includes full board and a daily programme of wildlife safaris into the Pantanal, with their expert guides. Will you be lucky and spot a jaguar?
Days 10 - 12 The Amazon
In the late afternoon, you will fly from Cuiabá to the city of Manaus which is the entry point for the Amazon Jungle. You will spend a night at a hotel near Manaus before heading down the Amazon River for two nights at a fantastic Amazon jungle lodge.
Located deep in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, your stay at the jungle lodge will include a daily programme of excursions into the Jungle with their superb guides. At the end of a great day exploring you can relax at the lodge and full board meals are also included.
Days 13 - 14 Salvador
You will return to Manaus before flying on to the Northeast of Brazil and the city of Salvador. You will spend two nights in the heart of the Pelourinho district which is the charming historic area of the city.
You will have an afternoon city tour to explore the old town of Salvador, with its colourful colonial houses, abundant churches, and cobbled streets lined with charming bars. Be sure to ride the beautiful art deco Elavador Lacerda which connects the upper city to the harbour for great views out to sea.
Days 15 - 17 Praia do Forte
After checking out of your hotel you will be transferred by car to Praia do Forte, where you will spend three nights on or near to the beach.
Enjoy two full days at leisure to explore some of the stunning beaches that make up the coastline around Praia do Forte. Alternatively, you may decide not to do very much at all!
Days 18 - 19 Salvador - UK
You will drive back to Salvador airport where you will take your onward flight and arrive back in the UK the next day.
