In years gone by, the only way to reach the sacred city of Machu Picchu in Peru was on foot, however, today you can utilise faster, more comfortable methods of transportation and travel via Inca Rail. Over 90% of travellers to the Seventh Wonder of the World now travel by train, therefore tickets are high in demand and should be booked in advance. Several trains per day depart from either Poroy or Ollantaytambo destined for Aguas Calientes beneath Machu Picchu. Arrive the evening before and experience the magnificent sunrise over the ancient Incan city.
