The Falkland Islands has a varied and sizable wildlife. In fact, 227 bird species have been spotted and over 60 are known to breed on the islands. The number of penguins is estimated at over 500,000, regrouping 5 species which are King, Gentoo, Rockhopper, Macaroni and Magellanic penguin. In this journey, you will discover majestic landscapes like Devil’s Nose and its rocky promontory or Carcass Island and spot seals, whales and dolphins. It surely gives you the opportunity to admire a formidable wildlife and beautiful scenery in this 8-day holiday.

Your flight will arrive at Mount Pleasant International Airport via LATAM or direct from the UK via RAF. You will be met and greeted by a Falklands Islands representative, and then transferred to a settlement.
Internal flight is provided to Saunders Island. A long stretch of white sand separates the 2 sides of the island where you can see a formidable birdlife like the Magellanic, Gentoo and a small colony of King penguins. The area is one of the few places to observe the Black-browed Albatross and for the remarkable Rockhopper colony.
Your next destination will be Carcass Island. You will travel to Leopard Beach and Stanley Hill which both have scenic landscapes and the opportunity to spot a plethora of wildlife. You can also request a full day Tour to West Point Island and explore different locations like Devil’s Nose, a rocky promontory with dramatic cliffs, or Mount Ararat where you can spot Black Browed Albatross and Rockhopper penguins. Then you will embark on a plane to Stanley.
Stanley is the capital of the Falkland Islands and where most of the Islanders are living. The small colourful city is easily accessible by foot. You will have the day to explore it and visit monuments and sites like the small museum, Christchurch Cathedral and the whalebone Arch.
You will travel in 4 x 4 vehicle by Johnsons Harbour and arrive at Volunteer Beach. You can see the largest colony of King penguin as well the Gentoo and Magellanic penguins. Other wildlife locations or battle sites Tours can be visited if required.
Transfer to the Mount Pleasant International Airport will be provided. You will fly back to the UK and will be advised of the pick-up time the night prior to departure.
