The Central Valley is situated in the heart of Costa Rica where you can see majestic mountains, dramatic volcanoes and enigmatic cloud forests. This day is a chance for you to explore this beautiful scenery at your own pace.

Day 3-5: Central Valley – Arenal

During this day, you will benefit from a private transfer with a driver-guide to the Arenal, where you will see the tall and imposing Arenal Volcano. The area surrounding the volcano is home to a huge diversity of wildlife. You will have the possibility to do horse-riding, or simply walking in the magnificent forest.
The next day, you will travel to Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, the perfect spot to observe the wildlife and majestic landscapes. It is a perfect Tour for birdwatching due to the height of the 15 bridges, 6 of which are hanging. About 350species have been observed in the area, explained mostly by a variation in microclimates throughout the reserve. Be ready to be on the lookout in this two-and-a-half-hour tour.
An extra is included in the trip to explore the area at your own pace.

Day 6-7: Arenal – Manuel Antonio

You will leave for Manuel Antonio, a small oceanside village principally famous for its national park. It has more than 109 species of mammals like the white-faced, howler monkey, two-toed sloth or the squirrel monkey. In this area, you will visit lush tropical forests, lagoons and pristine white sandy beaches. You can also go fishing, kayaking and river rafting. Guides will stop and explain the wildlife that can be observed and let you borrow their Pentax and Swarovski telescopes to admire the wonderful nature.

Day 8-9: Manuel Antonio – San Gerardo de Dota

On the following day, you will be transferred with a private guide to San Gerardo de Dota – a small mountain village surrounded by lush green forested hills. The region is a little paradise for nature lovers, birdwatchers and for fishing as it is home to the Los Quetzales National Park, one of the largest populations of Quetzal birds in Costa Rica and has over 200 other kinds of bird species like tanagers, trogons and hummingbirds.
You will also have one more day to enjoy the area and explore the surroundings at your own pace.

The following day, you will meet the guides after breakfast for a half day tour in Caño Island – a popular destination for ecotourism. In fact, it is a preferred place for whale watching and stunning beaches.
