Our Leisurely Argentina itinerary takes in as many of Argentinas best sights, as possible over 3 action packed weeks. See the sights of Buenos Aires and the almighty Iguacu Falls, explore the Andean Northwest, drink wines in the vineyards of Mendoza and visit southern Patagonia including the Perito Moreno Glacier.
You will start in the tango filled streets of Buenos Aires before heading the see the almighty Iguazu Falls. After this you will head to one of Latin Routes favourite areas of Argentina - Salta & the Northwest. The Andes Mountains create some superb and dramatic scenery in this area but unlike Patagonia you will see red rock, almost desert like scenery here with cactuses and the odd huge salt water lagoon for good measure. It is almost like a scene from another planet!
After your adventure in the Northwest, you will head to the warm vineyards of Mendoza for 3 nights in the wine capital of Argentina before the holiday moves on to southern Patagonia. You fly to Bariloche for 3 days to explore the beautiful crystal clear Lake District, set against a dramatic backdrop of the snow-capped Andes Mountains. Finally you move onto El Calafate where you will have the opportunity to see one of Argentina’s biggest attractions - the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Fly overnight from the UK to Buenos Aires where you will spend 2 nights in the home of the tango, at a centrally located hotel.
Enjoy a fascinating Half Day City Tour on your first morning and learn about the fascinating history of Argentina which has shaped what the country has become today. You will also discover great places to see with the rest of your time.
With the rest of your time in the city you could discover one of the cities many art galleries or museums. Alternatively, if your stay falls over a Sunday, you could visit the famous San Telmo Sunday Market which is home to a huge range of local artisan stalls, live music, tango and a buzzing atmosphere.
Fly from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu where you will spend 2 nights discovering the almighty Iguazu Falls
Enjoy a half day tour to the Argentinian side of the Iguazu Falls to discover one of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls. With the rest of your time you can explore the national parks or try one of the numerous adventure activities on offer.
Fly from Puerto Iguazu to Salta where you will find the surrounding scenery dominated by the dramatic red rock Andes Mountains. You will spend 3 nights in Salta at a centrally located hotel.
Spend you first day exploring the city. There are some beautiful historic buildings to discover in the centre as well as the fascinating Archaeological Museum where you can learn all about the cultures that used to inhabit the area.
On your second day you will head out from the city on a full day tour to Cafayate. The drive to Cafayate through the red rock mountains is stunning and make sure you keep your camera handy! Cafayate is a wine producing area of Argentina, famous for producing the white Torrontes wine and you will see a number of vineyards as you get near to the town. You will spend a few hours in the town including time for lunch (not included) before heading back to Salta.
Today you will fly to Mendoza to discover the home of Argentina’s world famous wine production for 3 nights.
Enjoy a half day wine tour where you will visit two or three Bodegas / Vineyards surrounding the city. Whilst at each of the venues a local guide will take you around and explain all about how they harvest the grapes and produce the wine at their location.
Fly from Mendoza to Bariloche (1 connection) to see the amazing scenery of Argentina’s Lake District. You will spend 3 nights at a lake side hotel near to the town of Bariloche.
Enjoy a Half Day Scenic Surroundings tour which will head out of town to some of the best viewpoints in the surrounding area. Make sure you don’t forget your camera for photos of crystal clear blue lakes set against a backdrop of snow-capped Andes Mountains. With the rest of your time you can discover more highlights of the region for yourself.
Today you will fly to El Calafate where you will find the scenery will dramatically change again. Around El Calafate the mountains get bigger, there are some amazing glaciers (including the Perito Moreno) as well as some of the classic Pampas scenery that makes Argentina famous all over the world. You will stay 3 nights in this area.
You will discover the hugely impressive sight of the Perito Moreno glacier for yourself on a full day tour which will take you as close to the face of it as you can get. If you still want to get closer speak to your Latin Routes Travel Specialist about trekking on the ice itself (not included)
Today you will fly back to Buenos Aires to where your Argentine Holiday started.
You could spend your last night stocking up on some last minute souvenirs, or perhaps go to see a tango show?
You will head to Buenos Aires Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK
