Family Inca Adventure 17-Day Itinerary
Day 1-2 UK - Lima
Arrive in Lima for a night in Peru's bustling capital city. Depending on the time of your arrival flight, you may wish to relax by the pool at your hotel in Lima’s beautiful Miraflores district, or head out to enjoy the city’s thriving gastronomic scene.


Day 3-5 Amazon Rainforest
Today you will fly to Puerto Maldonado in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. The next three days will be spent exploring jungle trails where you’ll look for insects and reptiles, climb a canopy tower to cross hanging bridges for incredible views over the treetops, go in search of giant river otters and black caiman on canoe tours, discover towering ceiba trees and learn about the native people and how they use the local flora for medicinal purposes.


Day 6-8 Sacred Valley
Fly to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley. Spend the following day exploring the valley, visit Chinchero with its impressive agricultural terraces and stunning views, the Living Museum of Yucay and the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.
On day 8, head out on an exhilarating white-water rafting experience on the Urubamba River. Take in the gorgeous mountain scenery and spot archaeological remains as you paddle towards Ollantaytambo where the grade 2-3 rapids await! The rest of the day is free for you to relax by the pool at your hotel.


Day 9 Machu Picchu
Today will be one the family remembers forever, as you visit one of the seven wonders of the world, Machu Picchu. Take a scenic train ride from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, then a bus to the archaeological complex. You will enjoy a guided tour of the marvellous citadel, an awe-inspiring experience where your guide will explain the different legends and theories behind Machu Picchu.
The next morning, a second entry ticket is included for you to further explore Machu Picchu at your own leisure (unguided).


Day 10-11 Cusco
After your morning at Machu Picchu, your next stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Cusco. Discover the charming streets of the Inca capital on a half-day city tour including San Blas neighbourhood, and important Inca sites like the Coricancha, once the most important temple in the Inca Empire, and the Spanish Cathedral. You will also visit the Chocomuseo for a hands-on chocolate making experience. Learn how cacao is harvested and transformed into a delicious chocolate bar, and make hot chocolate or cocoa tea the way the Maya and conquistadors did hundreds of years ago.
Day 12-14 Paracas
Fly from Cusco back to Lima and transfer south, to the dry desert, coastal town of Paracas. On your first full day, take a boat ride out to the Ballestas Islands National Reserve, home to a range of wildlife, including penguins, sea lions, boobies and tendrils, then spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool at your hotel.
The following morning, head inland, and explore the vast dunes in off-road buggies, an adrenaline-filled experience that kids and adults alike, will love. Relax in the afternoon or take a stroll along the coastline


Day 15-17 Lima - UK
Today you head back to Lima for your final night. The afternoon has been left free, you may wish to relax by pool, or speak to your Travel Specialist about arranging a city tour of Lima.
In the evening, your final holiday treat takes you to the Magic Water Circuit park. Located in the centre of Lima it is the largest fountain complex in the world, as certified by the Guinness World Records. This large park has 13 fountains which are choreographed to dance in harmony with lights and music.
The following day you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight and will land back in the UK on day 17.
