The Delfin III four-day Amazon River cruise starts in Nauta, a small riverside town located on the banks of the Marañon River, a tributary of the Amazon. From here you’ll board your luxury river cruiser, heading out on skiff excursions in search of monkeys, sloths and caiman. Your expert guides will help you discover some of the abundant birdlife that can be found in the region, including noisy parrots, prehistoric-looking hoatzin, huge jabiru, and colourful toucans. You’ll head out on foot on jungle trails in search of smaller insects and wildlife that cannot be seen from the shore, you’ll also learn about the incredible trees and plant life that keep the forest so alive. Your time on the Delfin III can be spent doing as much or a little as you like, take to the water by kayak, or stay on board the ship and relax in the sun deck’s Jacuzzi while birdwatching and wildlife viewing.

On the final day of your cruise you’ll have the opportunity to feed manatees at the Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals, where the team care for a variety of endangered species found in the region, including river otters, monkeys and turtles.

Day 1: Transfer from Iquitos and embark ship, afternoon skiff excursion.

Day 2: Morning jungle hike, afternoon kayaking.

Day 3: Morning skiff ride and community visit, afternoon jungle hike, sail to the Union of the Rivers.

Day 4: Visit Rescue & Rehabilitation Center of River Mammals en route to Iquitos Airport.
