Our Leisurely Argentina holiday is an 20-day trip for those with a bit more time to take in as many of Argentina’s best sights as possible. See the sights of Buenos Aires and the almighty Iguazu Falls, explore the Andean Northwest, drink wines in the vineyards of Mendoza and visit southern Patagonia including the Perito Moreno Glacier.

You will start in the tango filled streets of Buenos Aires before heading the see the almighty Iguazu Falls. After this, you will head to one of our favourite areas of Argentina - Salta & the Northwest. The Andes Mountains create some superb and dramatic scenery in this area but unlike Patagonia, you will see almost desert-like scenery as well as the expansive Salt Flats.

After your adventure in the Northwest, you will head to the warm vineyards of Mendoza for three nights in the wine capital of Argentina before the holiday moves on to southern Patagonia. You fly to Bariloche for two nights to explore the beautiful crystal-clear Lake District, set against a dramatic backdrop of the snow-capped Andes Mountains. Finally, you move onto El Calafate where you will have the opportunity to see one of Argentina’s biggest attractions - the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Day 1 - Depart the UK

Today you will depart the UK on your international flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Days 2 & 3 - Buenos Aires

Arrive in Buenos Aires where you will spend two nights in the home of the tango, at a centrally located hotel.

Enjoy a fascinating half-day city tour on your first morning and learn about the fascinating history of Argentina which has shaped what the country has become today. You will also discover great places to see with the rest of your time.

Days 4 & 5 - Iguazu Falls

Fly from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu where you will spend 2 nights discovering the almighty Iguazu Falls.

Enjoy a full-day tour to the Argentinian of the Iguazu Falls and half-day tour of the Brazilian side to discover one of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls.

Days 6 - 8 - Salta & the Northwest

Fly from Puerto Iguazu to Salta where you will find the surrounding scenery dominated by the dramatic red rock Andes Mountains.

From red rock to white flats, take a full-day tour to the Salinas Grandes, Salt Flats. Admire the dramatic change in scenery on your drive and don’t forget to try your hand at perspective-defying photos.

Days 9 - 11 - Mendoza

Today you will fly to Mendoza to discover the home of Argentina’s world-famous wine production for three nights.

Enjoy a full-day wine tour where you will visit three Bodegas / Vineyards in the heart of the central wine-growing region. Whilst at each of the venues a local guide will take you around and explain all about how they harvest the grapes and produce the wine at their location. As well as being able to sample some of the delicious produce you will also be able to enjoy a gourmet-tasting lunch.

Days 12 - 14 - Bariloche & the Lakes

Fly from Mendoza to Bariloche (1 connection) to see the amazing scenery of Argentina’s Lake District. You will spend the next three nights at a lakeside hotel near to the town of Bariloche.

Enjoy a Half Day Scenic Surroundings tour which will head out of town to some of the best viewpoints in the surrounding area. Make sure you don’t forget your camera for photos of crystal clear blue lakes set against a backdrop of snow-capped Andes Mountains. With the rest of your time, you can discover more highlights of the region for yourself.

Days 15 - 17 - El Calafate & the Perito Moreno Glacier

Today you will fly to El Calafate where you will find the scenery will dramatically change again. Around El Calafate, the mountains get bigger, and there are some amazing glaciers as well as some of the classic Pampas scenery that makes Argentina famous all over the world. You will spend three nights in this area.

You will discover the hugely impressive sight of the Perito Moreno glacier for yourself on a full-day tour which will take you as close to the face of it as you can get. If you still want to get closer, speak to your Latin Routes Travel Specialist about trekking on the ice itself (not included).

Day 18 - Buenos Aires

Today you will fly back to Buenos Aires for your last night. You will be able to say goodbye in style with a Dinner & Tango show. Enjoy a three-course meal while admiring the professional Tango dancers of Buenos Aires.
