The Area: 

Although Asuncion is smaller than many other South American capitals, it it doesn't take long to get acquainted with. Travel outside of the city to visit small artisan villages located on and around Ypacarai Lake, where locals make delicate hand-woven lace and filigree jewellery, pottery and musical instruments.   

Best Time To Go: 

March to September are the best months to travel, with warm temperatures and less humidity. From October to May the temperatures start to increase, with the highest temperatures of summer reaching around 35°C in Asuncion between December and February.
