Aurelie first caught the travel bug during her Master’s degree in Sustainability. She completed her dissertation on the impact of ecotourism on local communities and spent 2 months in Central America with local communities.
After graduating, she decided to learn Spanish so she bought a one-way ticket to Argentina and made her way to Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and up to Mexico. There she really fell in love with the people, the sceneries, the music and the overall way of living.
Today she has travelled to Antarctica, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, along with the Galapagos Islands. A formed travel specialist, she is now in charge of our Product and Operations.
"It’s very difficult for me to choose as I love every country for different reasons. In Argentina, Buenos Aires is by far my most favourite city in the world as it has such a rich culture and an amazing nightlife.
Peru gave me the most diverse experience in a short amount of time. It’s so easy to travel from the Amazon Rainforest up to the Andes. I remember taking a bus from the Amazon to Cusco and I was glued to the window as the sceneries were just spectacular.
The last place I think deserves a special mention are the Galapagos Islands which had the most amazing diversity of wildlife I have ever seen. I went diving with sharks, snorkelled with penguins and sea lions and walked next to giant tortoises."
"If you want to experience Machu Picchu at its best, I recommend getting there very early in the morning (around 6.00 am). There will be much fewer people and the experience is much more impressive as you will see the clouds slowly dissipating revealing the full beauty of Machu Picchu."
