Our Exploring Patagonia holiday focuses on exploring the beauty of Southern Patagonia across Argentina and Chile. A fantastic itinerary to show some of the most dramatic, and beautiful scenery in the world.

You will begin your holiday in Argentina with 2 nights in Buenos Aires. Enjoy a day exploring the many highlights on offer before heading off to Southern Patagonia. Your first stop will be El Calafate and a full day tour to the stunning Perito Moreno glacier. After 3 nights in the area you will take a stunning drive over the Andes Mountains to the Torres del Paine National Park for more breath-taking scenery and fantastic wildlife. Will you spot the famous Chilean Condor? The itinerary finishes in Santiago, the capital of Chile, for a couple of nights exploring.

This Holiday to Argentina and Chile Patagonia is great for anyone wanting to focus your holiday on these areas. Please note we would recommend taking this holiday between from October to March.

Day 1 - 3: Buenos Aires

Fly overnight from the UK to Buenos Aires where you will spend 2 nights in the home of the tango, at a centrally located hotel.

Enjoy a fascinating Half Day City Tour on your first morning and learn about the fascinating history of Argentina which has shaped what the country has become today. You will also discover great places to see with the rest of your time.

With the rest of your time in the city you could discover one of the cities many art galleries or museums. Alternatively, if your stay falls over a Sunday, you could visit the famous San Telmo Sunday Market which is home to a huge range of local artisan stalls, live music, tango and a buzzing atmosphere.

Day 4 - 6: El Calafate & the Perito Moreno Glacier

Today you will fly to El Calafate where you will find the scenery will dramatically change again. Around El Calafate the mountains get bigger, there are some amazing glaciers (including the Perito Moreno) as well as some of the classic Pampas scenery that makes Argentina famous all over the world. You will stay 3 nights in this area.

You will discover the hugely impressive sight of the Perito Moreno glacier for yourself on a full day tour which will take you as close to the face of it as you can get. If you still want to get closer speak to your Latin Routes Travel Specialist about trekking on the ice itself (not included)

Day 7 - 10: Puerto Natales & Torres del Paine

Today you will take a scenic road journey over the Andes Mountains to Puerto Natales. Along the way you will be able to see some more dramatic scenery. Upon arrival at Puerto Natales you will be transferred to a central hotel for 4 nights.

On your first day you will join a full day tour to the famous Torres Del Paine. The tour will take you to a number of the highlights in the park including Lago Grey and various excellent view points for the 3 Torres. Your guide will tell you all about the park and what makes it unique as well as pointing out the unique wildlife as you come across it. It's a day full of dramatic snow-capped mountains, stunning scenery and beautiful lakes and glaciers.

On your second day you will head out onto the water on a full day boat cruise to see the impressive Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers in the Bernardo O´Higgins National Park. This great day is sure to fill your camera full of amazing views and it even includes a complimentary Pisco Sours with ice from one of the glaciers! In the afternoon you will make a stop at Perales Cattle Ranch for a BBQ lunch.
With your last day in Puerto Natales, you may decide to try out one of the many adventure activities in the surrounding area or relax around town.

Day 11 - 12: Santiago

With a camera full of the amazing sights, you will fly to Santiago for 2 nights in the capital city of Chile. Enjoy a fascinating Half Day City Tour on your first morning and learn about the fascinating multi-cultural history of Chile which has shaped what the country has become today.

With the rest of your time in the city you could head up the San Cristobal hill for a great view over the city or discover one of the cities many parks, art galleries and museums.

Day 13 - 14: Fly to UK

You will head to Santiago Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK
