Originally built in the style of the Belle Époque, the mansion served as a seaside retreat during the presidency of Augusto Leguia in the 1920s. Its architectural features and flair capture the celebratory spirit of Peru’s centennial, which permeated life in the capital city throughout the era of its construction.
The largest room, the heart of Hotel B, is La Sala, which serves as a reception and gathering area. The space faces the main street and features two large sitting areas with Grand French ambiance. Adjacent to the lobby, La Biblioteca is a quiet room decorated with maps and books reminiscent of a Classic Explorer’s Club. A large reading table is the ideal spot for a light breakfast or to catch up on work. Nearby doors open onto the hotel’s enclosed central patio, with abundant greenery and afternoon sun. Enjoy a light meal en plein air. An enclosed central patio with abundant greenery which separates the old house from the contemporary annex surrounded with jasmine and fig scents; ideal for an outdoor breakfast; also open for lunch and dinner. An open, airy setting for relaxation or work on the second floor is reserved exclusively for hotel guests. There is also a private outdoor lounge on the rooftop overlooking Barranco and the Pacific Ocean with full bar and a light menu, available during warm months.
On the second floor of the original mansion, there are five unique and individual rooms, beautifully decorated and furnished. Measuring 26 to 42 square metres, all feature a king size bed that can be split into two twins, a sitting area with plush couch, writing desk and chair, cocktail table, vintage armoires and cabinets. Each walk-through white marble and glass bathroom includes twin vanity basins, separate WC and powerful rain shower. One of the Ateliers incorporates a steam shower and another, a deep soak bathtub. Complimentary amenities in all accommodations include high-speed wireless and wired Internet connection, local phone calls, minibar stocked with local and international flavours, plasma TV with HD channels, iPod docking station and our favourite ‘El Huerto de mi Amada’ fig & herb shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
