Thomas Somerscales Boutique Hotel is a charming hotel which was once the home of nineteenth century English painter Thomas Somerscales and his family.
Built in 1874, the painter provides much of the inspiration for the hotel as it stands today. The building has been carefully restored to offer comfortable guest accommodation while maintaining the character and charm of the original house and today offers good value accommodation in the heart of Valparaiso.
Guest rooms feature crisp white linens, 19th-century antiques, period ornaments and have a bright and fresh décor. The stairwell is cheerfully lit by a two-floor stained-glass window, and the front patio still has its black-and-white checker tiles. There is also an attractive breakfast room on the ground floor.
