When Do You Want To Go?
Located just an hour from Puerto Natales on the eastern edge of the Torres del Paine National Park, this 40 room Patagonian lodge is set amongst stunning landscape with uninterrupted views of the Torres del Paine massif.
Hidden by a bluff, Tierra Patagonia dramatically emerges from the surrounding landscape of the Patagonian steppe. Set on the shores of Lake Sarmiento, this unique-looking hotel was designed by 3 of Chile's leading architects to blend into the Patagonian landscape. The hotel has been constructed using local lenga wood and its appearance is modern yet it blends in well with the environment .
Each one of its smart and spacious rooms has been designed with an Eco theme, blending the Patagonian traditions with a European design and decorated using a natural palette of wood, wool, and leather with all rooms commanding outstanding views of the park, Patagonian steppe or majestic peaks.
The hotel's open-plan lounge, bar and dining area have cleverly thought out floor to ceiling windows which offer towering views out over the lake and the majestic Paine Massif. The main salon area has a glass wall that provides a striking view across Lake Sarmiento to the serried peaks beyond.

The lake is a closed basin elliptical lake with 47 miles (78km) of shoreline and a surface area of 86 square km. The eastern border of the lake makes up the edge of Torres del Paine National Park, and here our luxury hotel sits just a few minutes up the hillside. Take a short walk down to Lake Sarmiento to explore the black sand beach, ideal for long and leisurely walks. You'll discover Calafate bushes and other shrubs endemic to the ecological zone, called the Fuergian Steppe. You'll probably also see some ñandues, the local ostrich-like birds and possibly some grazing guanaco. All this, just steps away from the hotel.
Lake Sarmiento is a geo-site under study by the Sociedad Geologica de Chile because of the presence of the extremely rare formations called thrombolites. These white rocks are layered conglomerates of sand, aragonite shells of gastropods and filamentous cyano-bacterium. All this matter is enclosed by a clotted structure of Calcite Magnesium. Thrombolites are very uncommon but you can see them up close along the beach in front of Tierra Patagonia.
Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa sits on a bluff where the South American pampa meets Lake Sarmiento. The building is immersed in the landscape and emerges from the hillside. The award winning architecture complements the flow of the geology in this privileged location and showcases the magnificent views of the Torres del Paine National Park, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1978.
