Nestled in the National Reserve of Huilo Huilo, this is a truly unique and quirky property. As the name suggests, it is built in the shape of a Nothofagus tree, also known as a southern beech, a tree which is native to Patagonia. The hotel is made entirely of wood and thus blends in with its natural environment and the surrounding forest.
Comprising 55 rooms and suites distributed over seven floors, the hotel is rustic in its style and surrounded by forest. Each room has its own private balcony with spectacular panoramic views out across the National Reserve and its own en suite bathroom that uses natural heated spring water.
The natural environment is a key focus of this hotel and you are immediately wowed by an indoor waterfall when you walk in to the hotel lobby, whilst the 55 rooms spiral around an impressive atrium where a beech tree grows through the middle. Guest rooms are compact, yet offer a comfortable stay furnished with lots of natural woods and local textiles.
The décor reflects the natural surroundings and has been handcrafted by local artists.
In this hotel, eco meets luxury with a bar, restaurant and spa facilities but one of the true highlights of this hotel has to be the unique viewing platform on the top level which offers stunning views of the surrounding forest, really bringing a sense of nature and peace.
