Puerto Valle is a former cattle ranch that sits on the banks of the Parana River with access into Esteros del Iberá, a wildlife-rich wetland in the northern Argentine province of Corrientes.
The entrance to Puerto Valle is a welcoming gallery of tall bamboo canes that lead onto a lovely green manicured park. The surrounding landscape contains a variety of trees and fauna with the subtle sounds of birds and insects that live in the open spaces. Puerto Valle has a unique atmosphere that some have commented bring reminiscences of Africa.
There are thirteen exclusive guestrooms at the lodge, each of which enjoys a river view and is stylishly decorated, reflecting the natural paradise that surrounds them.
Guests can spend their days searching for fauna in the Iberá Wetlands, fishing in the Paraná River and discovering inviting trails that lead to eucalyptus plantations and a strip of private jungle. Here howler monkeys cavort through the canopy and capybara can be seen grazing near the water's edge.
Around the Lodge itself, guests can enjoy a refreshing drink at the open-air bar, delightful gourmet food at the Lodges Restaurant, and a matera where guests can sip the traditional mate (ma-tei) tea. A pool with a sun terrace makes for a great spot to relax in a peaceful ambience shaded by towering lapacho trees.

"A great option to give you a taste of the Ibera Wetlands without the long journey into the Reserve. Nice decor and refined landscaping also make this a more upgraded experience from some of the lodges located further into the Reserve. Amazing experience for Argentina holidays."

This location means it is only around 50 kilometres from Posadas airport and makes travelling to the Lodge quite convenient. The location does mean that while there is some wonderful wildlife to be spotted in the part of the Reserve that can be reached from the lodge, you are not as deep into the Reserve as other lodges.

Laguna Valle Ibera Reserve - 20kms

Puerto Valle has five rooms: two Standard rooms, two Superior rooms and a Duplex Suite, all with views of the river
There are four rooms in the main house which was built in the 1800s in a traditional Corrientes Manor style. Today the main house is fully refurbished whilst preserving its original charm.
Within the adobe walls, there are two Superior rooms and two Standard rooms. Both categories of room are spacious and decorated in a typically regional style. All rooms have access to the terrace with countryside furniture, an ideal setting to enjoy the sunrise and sunset by the river. Superior Rooms are larger than Standard Rooms with upgraded decor.
Only metres away from the Main House and in the same style, the Small House offers an exclusive two-story Duplex Suite comprising a large living-room with a fireplace and a bedroom, equipped with 27" LCD TV.
