Llao Llao Resort and Spa is one of South America's best-known and most unique hotels, located in scenic northwestern Patagonia. Nestled between Lake Moreno and Lake Nahuel Huapi, at the base of snow-capped peaks the Llao Llao hotel offers postcard views in every direction.
Originally built in 1940, the Llao Llao hotel in Bariloche was completely refurbished in 1993, in the style of one of Canada's grand mountain lodge hotels, with exposed cypress timbers, massive stone fireplaces, and Norman tile roofs.
The Llao Llao is in a dramatic setting and is equally alluring in summer or winter, with easy access to golfing, water sports, and some of Argentina's best skiing. If you are looking for a superb holiday resort hotel in Argentina, the Llao Llao would make an excellent choice.
From the lobby, a monumental hallway adorned with paintings from local artists leads to the rooms, all of which have been decorated in a rustic country design and come with gleaming white bathrooms. In 2008 the Llao Llao inaugurated its new Moreno Lake Wing. The new building enjoys a privileged view of Lake Moreno and Mt. Tronador and has added 43 studios and suites. The design and construction successfully integrated the new areas with the hotel's traditional Bustillo building and the natural surroundings.
The hotel offers all the services expected of a top-class resort, including an extensive Spa and Health Club, its very own Championship Golf Course, and a variety of dining options.
The hotel's signature restaurant is called Los Cesares and is an enchantingly romantic restaurant offering excellent dining in a refined and elegant setting. The venue comes complete with fireplace, antiques, white tablecloths, and ultra comfortable chairs with armrests with a menu that offers typical local dishes like Cordero Patagónico (Patagonian Lamb) as well as exquisite international cuisine recipes. The restaurant prides itself on using the highest-quality ingredients sourced locally, from wild game for the main courses to the wild berries for dessert.
Not to be missed on the main floor of the hotel is the lobby bar with its exquisite décor, combining wood and stone columns, leather upholstery and huge antler chandeliers that give it a warm and cosy feeling. A classic bar counter invites you to enjoy a great variety of cocktails or maybe a glass of champagne, and the daily Happy Hour is a great place to relax after a day exploring the area.
