Bariloche is one of the main towns in the region and is often the base for a wide choice of activities in the surrounding unspoilt countryside. Being close to the nearby Cerro Cathedral Ski Resort the town has a ski resort feel, with mountain shops, ski equipment shops and a Swiss influence in the architecture of it's older buildings.
Nestling in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, the town is a centre for hotels and restaurants with a long history of hospitality. You can enjoy fondue, hand-made chocolates and a succulent variety of wild game from deer to boar washed down with excellent Argentine wines. Bariloche also has a variety of bars to enjoy late into the night, but overall the town has a laid back feel great for Argentina holidays.
From the town you can explore the mountains and lakes on foot, bike, canoe or horseback as well as discover the myths and legends which are so much a part of Argentine colonial history.
