Short Cruises

Shorter Galapagos cruises are perfect for those you are looking to combine a longer holiday to South America with a few days in the Galapagos. It is the cherry on top of any Ecuador holiday as it is a great extra to add onto your itinerary. It is also a great way to get introduced to cruise holidays (for those you haven't tried them yet), without having to commit to it on a bigger scale. Truth is, if all Galapagos cruises leave you wanting more, the shorter ones, do that most of all!

Our Favourite Galapagos Short Cruises:

4 Day Galapagos Express

This 4-day Galapagos cruise is among the shortest cruises to the archipelago that we offer. In this short, but intense trip, you will be onboard the M/C Anahi which is a Power Catamaran Yacht launched back in 2006. The ship is very comfortable offering 6 twin cabins as well as 2 suites and is particularly good for anyone with little or no experience at sea, as it also offers great stability. Once onboard you will be taken to 7 different locations while being able to see some of the most amazing wildlife in the world. As you will be exploring the Eastern side of the Galapagos, your cruise will start with a visit to San Cristobal Island and end at Santa Cruz Island. In between you will also be able to visit the remote islands of Espanola and Floreana. What's the best location on the cruise? They are all equally unique. - San Cristobal Island is great because you can visit the Interpretation Centre where you can learn lots about the fascinating history of the Galapagos Islands. - This includes facts about the nature, species, as well as some additional information about the discovery and colonisation of this one of a kind archipelago. Next on is Tijeretas Hill; a great spot for some of the best views on the islands. Afterwards, you will be heading to Espanola Island, a fantastic site for bird watching, featuring some of the most impressive and varied colonies of sea birds in the Galapagos. Continuing on, you will arrive at Floreana island, another great location on your cruise featuring places such as - the best flamingo lagoon, “The Green Beach” (due to its high percentage of olivine crystals in the sand) and the “Flour Sand Beach” (which is made up of coral). Your trip continues with The Devil's Crown (great for snorkelling); and, finally, when you reach Santa Cruz, you will be visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station, which is one of the most iconic locations in the entire archipelago. It is also important to mention that an expert guide will accompany you throughout trip, helping you better understand your surroundings, and giving you many insights on the landscapes and wildlife. Last but not least, this is shorter cruise that offers a great value way to see the islands while also allowing you to explore other areas of Ecuador (and South America), all within the same holiday.

5 Day Flavour of Galapagos

Slightly longer than the previous cruise this '5-day Flavour of the Galapagos' combines the perfect blend of Galapagos locations for a quick, but very satisfying, Galapagos cruise. Just like the previous one, this cruise will be onboard the M/C Yacht Anahi, a Power Catamaran Yacht launched back in 2006. When onboard you can stay in one of the 6 twin cabins, or opt for the suite cabin (there are 2 available). The ship is very comfortable and includes all the usual features of a good quality cruise ship, so that you can enjoy the more relaxed moments onboard just as much as the ones outside. But the ship is not the only great element of this cruise, the locations are all just as marvellous. You will start your trip in Baltra, then move on to Genovesa Island, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe Island and, finally, San Cristobal Island, where you will stay for one night. While on this cruise you will have the chance to see some of the amazing wildlife that inhabits the islands, meet new people, and ultimately, make fantastic new memories. Some of the beautiful locations included on this cruise are - Bachas Beach, Darwin Bay (great for birdwatching), Islas Plazas (watch out for the land iguanas!), Kicker Rock (or Sleeping lion), Isla Lobos, giant tortoise breeding centre, and so much more. When it comes to wildlife you will also be seeing - red footed-booby, masked boobies, wandering tattlers, lava gulls, whimbrels, yellow-crowned, and black-crowned lava herons, yellow warblers, giant tortoises, audubon shearwaters, red-billed tropicbirds, frigate birds, brown pelicans, flamingos, as well as anything else that is not too shy to come your way! Being a shorter cruise, it offers a great value way to see the islands as well as room to see other areas of Ecuador and South America, all in the same holiday. Also, as usual, the cruise is accompanied by an expert guide who will provide you with great insights in to all that you will be seeing on the islands.

5 Day East Galapagos Classic

On this 5-day Galapagos cruise you will be exploring the Eastern side of the archipelago. You will be onboard the 'Santa Cruz 2', a ship especially conceived to explore remote areas such as the Galapagos islands. At just over 70 metres long this ample five-deck ship features - 50 cabins for 90 guests, a very friendly expert expedition crew, a fleet of modern zodiac boats for exploration, as well as generous social areas where you can enjoy relaxed moments after a full day of activities. The ship also features; outdoor and indoor dining areas, a fitness room, Jacuzzis, a stylish bar and lounge, as well as a rich library, all with the aim of making your cruise the most sophisticated experience you have ever had. Just like in the previous cruises, this is a short cruise that offers a great value way to see the islands while leaving room to see other areas of Ecuador and South America within the same holiday.

Long Cruises

Longer cruises can vary but, mostly, when planning a longer trip to the Galapagos tourists tend to prefer 8-day cruises as this gives the right amount of time to explore the islands in more depth. Also, on an 8-day cruise there will be plenty of time to explore the unique eco-system present in the Galapagos Islands. A longer cruise trip will also allow you to explore more, so make sure to speak with one of our travel specialists, who will be able to include as many of your Galapagos favourites in itinerary as possible!

Our Favourite Long Galapagos Cruises:

8 Day Southern Galapagos Explorer

Our 8-day 'Southern Galapagos Explorer' cruise is a fantastic way to explore the Galapagos islands in a bit more in depth. You will have more time on the islands and will be able to see a greater number of Galapagos locations on this cruise compared to a shorter voyage. Another interesting fact about this cruise, is that even though it is of a longer nature, it is aboard one of the smallest ships in the Galapagos: The Nemo 2. This further improves your cruise experience as the ship only takes a maximum of 12 passengers on each expedition, making this voyage, a very personalised one. The itinerary is just as special, it starts with Baltra, followed by Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, Espanola, Floreana, Santa Fe, Chinese Hat, and ending back in Baltra. This fantastic route provides a great selection of sites from many of the Galapagos Islands “must-sees”, to some of the more “off the beaten track” spots. Some of the more famous locations you will be visiting include - the iconic Charles Darwin Research Station; Bachas Beach which is a great first landing site and where you can swim, relax, or explore the lagoon just behind the beach; Highlands Finca Primicias is great for observing giant turtles in their natural habitat; Cerro Brujo is a beautiful white sand beach where brown pelicans, blue-footed boobies, sea lions, and marine iguanas can be easily found; you will also be visiting the famous Leon Dormido; Lobos Island (with their population of sea lions and fur sea lions); Punta Suarez; Gardner Bay (more rich wildlife spotting!); Punta Cormorant; Champion; Mirador De La Baronesa; Post Office Bay; South Plaza; and Sombrero Chino (Chienese Hat) which is a tiny island just off the southeast tip of Santiago. The cruise will as always be accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide who will be with you at all times to answer all of your Galapagos Islands questions.

8 Day Western Galapagos Quest

The 8-day 'Western Galapagos Quest' explores beautiful parts of the Galapagos Islands and is perfect for those who have already cruised the Eastern Galapagos side. You will be onboard the 'Mary Anne', an elegant barquentine vessel launched back in 1997. There's a maximum of only 16 passengers onboard, and 12 beautiful double cabins to choose from. Another interesting fact about the vessel is that it has been designed with environmentally friendly operations, and has even been certified by Smart Voyager. When on onboard, your Mary Anne itinerary will be just as incredible as the ship itself. You will start off your journey with a bus ride from Baltra airport to Santa Cruz and once onboard your first stop will be Floreana island. Next on will be Santa Cruz; followed by Isabella island; Fernandina Island; Santiago Island; North Seymour; and back to Baltra. While visiting the islands you will have the opportunity to spot a huge variety of wildlife such as Galapagos Penguins, Iguanas, turtles, seals and so much more. The landscapes are also breathtaking so carrying your phone or camera around is a must. During this week-long cruise, you will be taken to over 15 different highlights of these fascinating islands. These include - The Baroness’ domain; Devil’s Crown; Post Office Bay; Puerto Ayora; the Charles Darwin Research Station; Punta Moreno; Elizabeth Bay; Urbina Bay; Bolivar Channel; Punta Espinosa; Tagus Cove; Darwin Lake; Punta Vicente Roca; Espumilla; Puerto Egas; and many more. 8 Day Superb Western Galapagos Cruise

The 8-day 'Superb Western Galapagos Cruise' is another great route for exploring the western Galapagos side. You will be onboard the fantastic Silver Galapagos, a 5-star luxurious vessel that offers one of the most elegant and sophisticated Galapagos cruising experiences. The ship is especially famous for its signature restaurant which features a lovely choice of local Ecuadorean dishes. Specialities include: Galapagos Lobster a la Galapaguera, and filet mignon with truffles. There is also a Piano Bar where you can spend some time relaxing after dinner, as well as a hot tub perfect for admiring the Galapagos sunsets. Your itinerary will be just as superb, and your journey will go from Baltra, to Santiago, Fernandina, Isabela, Floreana, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, and then back to Baltra where your cruise ends. The special trait of the Western Islands is that they are home to the only active volcanoes in the archipelago. Because of this, you can expect to see spectacular volcanic landscapes on your cruise, as well as lots of penguins as over 95% of the Galapágos Penguins live in these islands. But penguins are not the only special inhabitants of these islands, this area is also known to be the only one where you can see the endemic Flightless Cormorant. Other great highlights of the cruise are – Bartolome, Playa Espumilla, Punta Vicente Roca, Punta Espinoza, Caleta Tagus, Bahía Elizabeth, Post Office Bay, Punta Cormorant (or Champion), Galapaguera Cerro Colorado, Wizard Hill, Los Gemelos, Puerto Ayora, and the Fausto Llerena Breeding Center. You of course, you will visit all of these while enjoying onboard first-class amenities each time you return to the ship. Last but not least, every cruise includes complimentary exploration activities such as - Zodiac tours, snorkelling, kayaking, as well as nature hikes led by highly experienced guides, certified by the National Park of the Galápagos.
